Governor of Les Invalides. Created Marshal of France in 1861 by Napoleon III. He married in 1816 Maria Walewska, former mistress of Napoleon Bonaparte, his first cousin. She died a year later (on 11 December 1817), having already fallen ill after the birth of her son Rodolphe Auguste d'Ornano (on June 9, 1817).
