Deloit N. Craig of Cozad passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg at the age of 89. Del was born November 22, 1931 in the family home in Ingham, Nebraska to Milton and Mable (Mercer) Craig. Del was the 6th of 12 children and grew up in the hills south of Brady, Nebraska. On November 21, 1953 he married Donna Jean Claflin. Their union was blessed with 7 children, Marty, Wade, Brad, Becky, Brenda, Shane and Gina. Del joined the U.S. Army in 1955. Following his discharge, he worked at local hay mills before starting his own business as an electrician. On August 31, 1991, he married Velma Hemenway. Del enjoyed country music, could play most instruments, and loved to entertain with his talent at local care homes. He also enjoyed hunting and bowling. Del treasured time spent with his family and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna; children, Becky, Brenda and Shane; stepson, Mike Faling; granddaughter, Audi Craig; 2 infant great grandsons; a sister and 5 brothers. Survivors include his wife Velma of Cozad; children, Marty (Marita) Craig of Lexington, Wade (Ginger) Craig of Farnam, Brad (Angie) Craig of Lincoln and Gina Craig of Lincoln; stepson, Robert (Angie) Faling of OR; 23 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 3 great great granchildren; 3 sisters, 2 brothers and 2 brother-in-laws; along with many other relatives and friends.
