He was Representative to the General Assembly, a major in the militia, a member of the Governor's Council, Judge of the Hartford Co. Court and the CT Supreme Court, appointed to revise the laws of the CT Colony, one of three Commissioners representing CT at Albany in 1745 to discuss plans for union; m. (1) Mary Newberry 1728 Windsor CT, m. (2) Eunice Colton, widow of John Ely, 1759.
