LEO BOWLING DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS
Funeral Thursday Morning at St. Peter's Church
Montgomery, Ind., July 28 – Following an illness of five years from bronchial asthma, Leo John Bowling died at his home in Barr township at 2:36 o'clock this morning. His condition had been considered serious for the last year.
Mr. Bowling was a native of Barr township and was born September 25, 1878. His parents were John W. and Cordelia (Patterson) Bowling.
He married Carrie Belle Hess on April 21, 1917. She is still living. He also leaves his aged father of Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Peter's church, Montgomery with burial in St. Peter's cemetery. The body will be returned to the home at 6 o'clock this evening from the Norris Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Mr. Bowling's living children are Mrs. Marie Hughes, Evansville; Mrs. Josephine Blagrave, Vincennes; Mrs. Cleo Baird, Mrs. Florence Ditlinger and Earl Bowling in Indianapolis; Mrs. Geraldine Smiley, Loogootee and Mrs. Lillian Murdoch, Wheaton, Ill.
He also leaves these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Edward Essig, Washington; Mrs. Mary Brewer, Washington; George Bowling, Indianapolis; Julian L. Bowling, Washington; Mrs. Theresa Yates, Kansas City; and Harry Bowling, Loogootee. There are also eight living grandchildren.
