Howard Charles Benzer, 87, of Springfield, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Illinois Veterans' Home in Quincy, IL.
He was born September 10, 1920 in Springfield, IL, the son of Charles and Lydia Ann Weber Benzer. His parents and one brother, Robert Benzer, in 1979, preceded him in death.
Mr. Benzer was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he served as a postal clerk from 1954 until September 19, 1980. He was a member of United Federation of Postal Clerks #239 and Southern View Chapel.
Survivors: one daughter, Maureen Mary Benzer of Peoria; and several cousins.
