Anna went through the 8th grade in Peola in East Washington. She didn't attend high school but did housework and other odd jobs for other people. The family sold out and went to Everette and was there in 1912. Anna then decided to go to high school in 1915. She graduated from high school the same year her little brother Emmett did.
