OBITUARY: The Stratford Herald Monday, February 4, 1889. Another Old Settler Dies-Mr. Michael McGuigan, of concession 2, North Easthope, died on Sunday after a week's illness of inflammation of the lungs, aged 71 years. The deceased was one of the oldest, widest known and most generally respected residents of the County of Perth. He was a native of County Derry, Ireland, and came to Canada over 40 years ago and settled on the farm on which he died. Before coming to this country he lived for some years in Scotland. He was married in this country , and his wife who survives him, with a large and fine family of children, was Miss Bridget Quinlivan, of North Easthope. The children number ten, six boys and four girls, and are scattered over the continent, all having good educations and being well to-do. Thomas is city clerk of Vancouver, B.C. , where William is also a well known physician. George is a wholesale commission merchant in Chicago, and Michael is a bookeeper in Philadelphia. James is married and farming in North Easthope, and Robert, the youngest son, has adopted the farming life. The four daughters are Agnes, Margaret, Mathilda, and Mary, the latter being the wife of Joseph Salkeld of this city. The deceased was of retiring disposition and pronounced domestic habits. He was a great reader of books and newspapers and could converse intelligently on almost any topic of present or recent interest. He was a staunch Conservative in politics and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 9 a.m. to the Catholic cemetery.

There were 4 more children that I am aware of for this family.
Michael born 27 JUN 1858, he died before 1862, see his brother below.
George born 1859.
Michael born 22 MAR 1862.
Robert Henry born 2 JUN 1869.

And Michael was a bookeeper in Philadelphia.
