Mrs. G.V. Mayfield died at her home at Mineral Ridge on the evening of the Fourth at 7 o'clock. Death was due to consumption from which she has suffered for some time. The funeral was held at 3 o'clock Wednesday from the M.E. church at Mineral Ridge, Rev. A.W. Harned officiating, and the remains interred in the cemetery at that place. A husband and eight children survive. Mrs. Samuel Jennings, who was present when she died, Mrs. Rose (Geo. Washington) Caylor of this city, Mrs. Nellie Gibbius of Worth township, Mrs. Lizzie Miller of Humeston, Iowa, Ellen Mayfield of Nebraska, Charles of Des Moines and Henry and Dow of Nebraska.
