Mr. Curia was one of two spectators killed while watching the funeral train of Senator Robert F. Kennedy as it passed through Elizabeth, New Jersey. Mr. Curia, along with Mrs. Antoinette Severini, were struck by a passenger train heading in the opposite direction of the Kennedy train. They were part of a crowd that had moved out onto the tracks to get a better view of the funeral train.
