Harold (Phil) Phillip Smiley

Harold "Phil" Phillip Smiley, 72, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on November 29, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to William Edward Smiley and Nancy Florence Dean Smiley.
He graduated from Phillips High School in Phillips, Texas. He married March 11, 1954 in Borger, Texas. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum where he worked for 42 years. He was a member of the Masons and Elks. He loved to bowl, wrote the Local AARP Newsletter for 10 years, and was a member of the Bella Vista Crime Watch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Walter Gray; daughters, Nancy Smiley, Mary Ann Smiley; brothers, Charles Smiley and Claude Smiley.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, one son, one daughter, three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two nieces and one nephew.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2007 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas with Cal Stewart officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, #1 Highlands Crossing Drive, Apt 203, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715.
