**My Aunt**

Mary Ellen, or Aunt Midge as we called her, was married to Don Snider. They had three children, Sheila, Lee, and Erica.

Midge came from a big family. She had ten brothers and sisters. Six of them, Johnny, Nancy, Donna, Jeanie, Fred, and Kenneth preceeded her in death. Siblings still living as of December 4, 2007, are Robert, Margie, Frank and Betty Jane.

I have a lot of good memories of Aunt Midge...of all of Dad's sisters, she was my favorite. She had such an infectious laugh, sparkling brown eyes, she was so much fun. She had a bawdy sense of humor, and a sense of family loyalty that was beyond belief. She'd do anything for any one of us. My best memory of her was when she came in for my wedding, and we went shopping.

From my Journal: I Can't Sleep, Thoughts of Midge

A few days before she was taken to the hospital for the last time, she phoned me to ask what the symptoms of a Gall Bladder attack were. She was having pain in her lower back and difficulty breathing. Like Dad, she refused to go to the emergency room, she told me it would take forever to be seen because it was the weekend, that she'd rather wait and go on Monday to her regular physician. By the time she was seen, it was too late, she had pneumonia and was put on a respirator. She quickly slid into a coma.

Midge passed on from respiratory failure due to emphysema and pneumonia.

From her memorial pamphlet:
On Eagle's Wings
And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand

Services for Midge were held at the Voran Funeral Home, Taylor Chapel, with Pastor Willard Nance speaking, on Weds, Dec 20, 2006 at 1:00 P.M.

My most heartfelt thanks to Stephen for sponsoring my Aunt's memorial page. If you have time, would you please stop by and remember his Mom, Joan Catherine Colby Patterson, with a flower? Thanks Stephen, you're an angel.
