In 1947, he graduated from the Higher Central School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party in Prague. The 1952 collection "Verses for Children" was intended for children's readers. Politically, he was a councilor of the Czech Republic Embassy in Moscow from 1956 to 1961. From 1968 to 1975, he was an employee of the Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including being from 1969 to 1975 the Czechoslovak Ambassador to Switzerland.
