Author. Born in Slanje, Croatia, he was a noted Slovak writer of poetry, prose and children stories. He became a professional writer in 1938 when he published his first book and ran a bookstore in Slovakia, during the World War II. Some of his best works in poetry included “Delusion” (1936), “Drinking Song” (1936), for prose “Jerguš Lapin” (1939), “Heights” (1952), “Gallows Pole” (1958), children’ stories “Stallion and Man” (1933), “African Diary” (1936) and “Adventures in the Wilderness” (1940). He died at age 60 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia.
