Exactly one week after a wonderful family Thanksgiving gathering, we lost my brother-in-law, my sister, Cindy's husband, Don, to a heart attack. He was only 60 years old.
It was his day off and he'd spend most of the day running errands with my Mom. He was like that, always taking care of people. Ever since my step-father had died six months earlier, Don would always spend his days off tending to his mother-in-law and her needs. After running errands, Mom and Don went out to lunch and besides eating, had a wonderful conversation. Mom recalled later, that at that particular lunch, Don was in high spirits and they seemed to talk about anything and everything. Don was always the life of the party, wherever he was. Later in the afternoon, at Mom's house, Don had a heart attack. He had a good day, that ended in our sorrow.
We are all in total shock and disbelief that Tex isn't with us anymore. I feel so bad for my sister, Cindy. They were true and solid soul mates. December 6th would have been their 38th wedding anniversary
I was 16 when he came into my life when he started dating my sister. That's 40 years. He walked me down the aisle when I married Dan, and did a million other things for me and everyone else. I will miss him until the day I die.

Don was born July 18, 1947 in Blue Island, Illinois to John and Mary Jane (Lyons) Adam. He attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, Texas before his family moved to Wisconsin, settling in Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh High School, Class of 1966. Don furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
On December 6, 1969, Don was united in marriage to Cynthia Nash of Sheboygan Falls.
For the past thirteen years, Don was employed at Van's Honda in Green Bay.
Don was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where he served as usher. He was also a member of the Viking Bow and Gun Club in Valders, Wisconsin.
Don took great pride in having played as an offensive right tackle for the Sheboygan Red Wings football team in the 1970's. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and riding his "Harley." Don and Cynthia were able to enjoy four visits to Ireland, a country he dearly loved.
(Updated in 2014) - In addition to his wife, Cynthia, Don is survived by a son, Tyler (Heidi) Adam and their children, Kristof and Veronica of Slinger, Wisconsin; a daughter, Kate Adam and her son, Austin, of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; four brothers, Richard (Barb) Adam of Madison, Michael (Connie) Adam of Memphis, Tennessee, Robert (Mimi) Adam of Phoenix, Arizona, and Anthony Adam of Milwaukee; a sister, Kathy (Joe) Balistreri of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and other family members including Don's mother-in-law, Vi Brewer of Sheboygan Falls, and a sister-in-law, Lori (Dan) Kanitz of Sheboygan.
Don's parents, John Adam and Mary Jane Adam, preceded him in death.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 8th, at Faith United Methodist Church, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Rev. Don Drollinger, Pastor, officiated. Interment took place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.

One who gave meaning to our lives is gone.
It is natural for us to grieve.
Still, there is another truth that we dare not forget.
The one we love is with the Lord.

A promise from the Lord Himself.
May we all find our own sense of peace with this promise, this grand assurance, that there is no death, and that our separation at this time is only temporary.
