LAST RITES PAID THOS. RUTLEDGE

Native of South Grove, Born in 1858 There, Accorded Funeral Rites Here Monday Morning from St. Mary's. -- Died Last Thursday Evening.

Funeral services for Thomas Rutledge, a native of South Grove and widely known in this community, were Monday morning held from St. Mary's Church in Sycamore. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery, DeKalb.
The deceased was 75 years of age. He passed away at 10 o'clock last Thursday evening at his home in Randolph, Neb., according to word received by relatives and friends in Clare community. The body was returned to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Coles, at Clare.
Thomas Rutledge, son of Patrick Rutledge and Mary Hayes Rutledge, was born in 1858 in South Grove township. He grew to manhood there and in 1887 married Katherine McGirr with whom he moved to Nebraska to engage in farming. Mrs. Rutledge preceded him in death 40 years ago. Her husband has remained there with two brothers.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Harry Coles and Miss Anna Rutledge, both of Clare; two brothers, James and Sylvester of Grand Island; six sisters, Mrs. A.P. Heiss, Mrs. M.J. Wheeler, Jane and Helen Rutledge of Chicago with Mrs. James Ryan and Miss Mary Rutledge of Sycamore. There are two grandchildren also to mourn his passing.
