US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1921 and commenced the practice of law in Pittston, Pennsylvania. From 1926 to 1930, he was solicitor for Pittston City and served as assistant district attorney of Luzerne County, 1932 to 1936. In 1937, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fifth, Seventy-sixth and Seventy-seventh Congresses and served until his resignation in 1942. That same year, he become judge of the common pleas court of Luzerne County and served until his death.
