Services for Del Fambrough, 79, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church. Inurnment will follow at Pioneer Cemetery.

Mrs. Fambrough died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at her home.

She was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Mount Pleasant, Tex. She grew up in Longview, Tex., and moved to Lawrence in 1946.

Delfred Few was a daughter of Rev. Fred Few, and his wife, Della Fuller.

She was a graduate of East Texas State University and received her master's degree in education from Kansas University.

Mrs. Fambrough taught English at Central Junior High School and at Lawrence High School. She was awarded the Lawrence High School Outstanding Teacher Award by the senior class in 1971 and 1977. She received the Allen Press Distinguished Teacher Award in 1987 and was given membership in the White House Committee Presidential Scholar Program in 1986.

She married Don P. Fambrough on Oct. 4, 1941, in Austin, Tex. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Preston Fambrough, Baldwin, and Bob Fambrough, Lawrence; four grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Ginny Fambrough, Baldwin, and a sister-in-law, Faye Cordell, Longview, Tex.
