A peaceful resting place,photo taken in the glow of late afternoon sunshine. Sign made by Brent P. Prince who also started the cemetery beautification project in his young adulthood, with a committee, and also recently got the fence around the cemetery.

Rolaine King of New Harmony Heritage approached Brent and asked him to make the sign for a two-item cemetery improvement idea, the sign and a cemetery maintenance shed to replace the deteriorating metal shed. The maintenance shed was planned to have an information patio since New Harmony is small and has no centralized place of interest for visitor information except the Post Office when it is open.

Brent has a collection of brands he has researched and made of Iron. He and his brother Vernile Prince have burned those brands onto the shed front.

Local contractor, Tony West, donated his crew for the framing; Marty Larsen the excavation; Ken and Kenny Woods the cement work and brickwork assisted by D. Vernile Prince; shed design by local artist and draftsman, Dana Dahl.

Julie Woods and Rolaine King stained the plywood designed and started as the finishing touches of the shed. The town is in process of putting the layout and location indexes on the shed.

The town donated $1500.00 for this project with stipulation that New Harmony Heritage raise the rest needed which had not been done. $200 was donated by Hardy Redd of the Charles Redd organization from his personal funds when he attended the Redd Family reunion here in was a goal of New Harmony Heritage which was seen through by the very large family-oriented Redd Family of which both Rolaine King, and Brent and Vernile Prince are a part.

The others named as having helped are new (you can live here 50 years and still be called new quipped Cannon Huntsman who married a local girl, lived and is buried here). In a valley area where 1900 new residents have been added under different water boards and architechtural boards, the new members of the town assimilate immediately and start contributing. Others in county but on upper bench and in New Harmony Ward or the Fire Association which covers all non-incorporated area as well as incorporated town, are a great source of volunteer labor and talents and labor shared. Common interests, common goals are great community builders just as in the founding days of Utah--idea from Community and Cooperation Among the Mormons , "Building the City of God" by Leonard Arrington and others. This is the era of the Founding of Harmony fort to days major population was in New Harmony in 1962.
