Attorney and wife of Vermont Governor Harold Arthur. She graduated from Burlington's Cathedral High School in 1923, studied law while working for an attorney, and was admitted to the bar in 1929. She practiced in Burlington and specialized in real estate law. In 1939 she married attorney Harold Arthur, and they practiced together in Burlington as the firm of Arthur & Arthur. After her husband's death, Mrs. Arthur continued practicing law until the mid 1990s, when she retired and moved to Morristown to live with her daughter.
