JENNINGS — Nola Marie Nolan Trahan, 66, died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, in her
residence.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, from Our Lady Help of Christians. Monsignor Edward
Brunnert will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Head of Hollow Cemetery in Johnson
Bayou under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation is 2-10 p.m.
today and from 8 a.m. Friday.
She was a native of Gueydan; she was born Aug. 6, 1938. She loved taking in foreign exchange
students and all other children. She was a Den Mother in Boy Scouts when her sons were growing up.
She was a band booster for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three sons, Gaylon Trahan of Crosby, Texas, and Anton Rabian Trahan and
daughterin-law Barbara, and Derek Trahan, all of Jennings; two daughters, Starlett Young and son-
in-law Kim of Indian Bayou and LaNell Trahan of Jennings; four sisters, Ella Mae Bertrand of
Jennings, Advelia Mallett of Welsh, Mona Richard of Jennings and Evette Miller of Campwood, Texas;
and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Trahan; parents, Anton Rabian and Alice Hines
Nolan; one brother, Franklin Nolan; and one sister, Phalia Saltzman.
Pallbearers will be Lenora Mallett, Adam Mallett Sr., Joey Istre, Douglas Koonce, Lawrence
Mallett, Reginald Richard and David New.
