Israel T. Bradbury was bn in Penn, in 1815; he married Mary (unk) Bradbury, bn PA, prob in Pennsylvania. When he began his ministerial career is not known for certain, but prob. in Penn. or Ohio. The "History of Summit Free Will Baptist Church," shows that Rev. I.T. Bradbury, "a venerable and worthy man, organized the Summit FWB church, Cloud Co. KS, in 1882." Their first pastor was Rev. E.A. Phillips.
He was represented in Cloud and Rebuplic Quarterly Meeting (district churches) in 1886 conference, working in John's Creek Mission, Cloud County. An agricultural tax record showed he and his sons engaged in farming, and Isaac in "stock raising and farming." Most of the pioneer ministers did not consider 'ministry' as an occupation, for they received very little funds to help them, and they made their living another way.
He probably was not long in Kansas until he passed away.
