Chuck Ivy, 68, a utility contractor, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, in Mineral Wells.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Gordon with Jimmy Ivy and the Rev. Kurt Powell officiating. Burial: Old Gordon Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Chuck was born April 15, 1938, in Lubbock to Olen R. and Nola Reed Ivy. He graduated from Lazuddie High School. Chuck married Ginger Roberts on June 23, 1957, in Muleshoe. They lived in Arlington for many years and where Chuck worked as a butcher and rancher and then as a utility contracts from 1983 until his death. Chuck moved to Gordon in 1994. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gordon. Chuck enjoyed hunting, water skiing, cooking outside and entertaining company at his house.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gayle Mosley, in 2004.
Survivors: His wife, Ginger Ivy of Gordon; mother-in-law, Ruth Roberts of Gordon; sons, Mark Ivy and his wife, Danita, of Santo and Paul Ivy and his wife, Kristi, of Palo Pinto; sister, Barbara Matthews and her husband, C.C. Jr., of Ransom Canyon; grandchildren, Kayci, Adrainna and Michael Ivy; great-grandson, Robert Freeman; nephews, Gary and Darrell Matthews; nieces, Angela Dunn, Aymee, Anna and Lindsey Mosley; brother-in-law, Rick Mosley of Lubbock; and extended family and friends.
