Jane Eason Edwards went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer. Her strong belief in God and perpetual will to live through so many odds against her were inspirational and should serve as examples for all in the numerous lives she touched over the years.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at University Christian Church. Interment: Lindale Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
Jane was born Sept. 22, 1940, in Lindale. She attended Paschal High School and graduated from Texas Christian University. She married Jerry Edwards, a professional golfer, and devoted her life to raising her two daughters, Shelley Jane and Tiffany Lee.
Professionally, Jane was an accomplished artist and spent many years painting for numerous private/personal and gallery art collections in the U.S. and abroad. She was also a dedicated art educator and taught at Paschal High School, Country Day and Fort Worth's Modern Art Museum, sharing her special talents with so many individuals. In addition, she loved her church, University Christian, and taught Sunday school as well as vacation Bible school there.
Special thanks are extended to numerous medical professionals over the past seven years as well as M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Most of all, special blessings and thanks can never be forgotten and go to her "soulmate", Mick Ashworth, who was there every step of the way in this long and unforgetable journey.
Survivors: Her daughters, Shelley Edwards of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Tiffany Dres and her husband, Hank, of McKinney; and twin granddaughters, Hannah and Savannah Dres.
