Former inspector for Owens-Illinois Glass Co.

Cecilia Alvino (Seifert), 86, of Malaga passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at South Jersey Healthcare Elmer Hospital after a brief illness.

Cecilia was born in Philadelphia and raised in Franklinville, and was a lifelong Franklin resident. She was the daughter of the late Gotleib and Mary (McCarty) Seifert. Mrs. Alvino was formerly employed as an inspector with Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Glassboro before supporting her husband, a longtime self-employed farmer in the operation of the family farm. She was member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Malaga; Rosary Adoration Society; a 30-year member of the Gloucester County Election Board, where she served as a judge; Malaga Fire Company Ladies Auxilary; and Newfield Senior Citizens Club. She was a proud graduate of Clayton High School, Class of 1940. She loved watching the Phillies, reading, casinos and her family, especially her grandson, Joseph Mottola.

Mrs. Alvino was predeceased by her husband, Fred, in 2004; as well as a son, Fred Jr; and a daughter, Florence Rizzo. She is survived by two daughters, Joann Williams and her husband Arthur of Olivet, Mich, and Linda Mottola and her husband Gary of Franklinville; a daughter-in-law, Rita Alvino of Naples, Fla; a son-in-law, Victor Rizzo Sr. of Vineland; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, friends and beloved neighbors.

Her funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 265 Old Dutch Mill Road, Malaga, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland.
