John Davis Boyd was a son of James Joseph Boyd and Mary Frances 'Mollie' Trailkill Boyd. He married Emma Louise Morgan July 11, 1919. Emma died in 1962, leaving John a widower for 18 years. John Davis Boyd was part owner and operator of Ellis Hardware store in Winona, MS.

J. D. "Red" Boyd, 82, of Winona died November 26 at Kilmichael Hospital. He was a native of Montgomery County and was partner in Winona Hardware Co. and married to the late Emma Morgan Boyd.

Mr. Boyd is survived by several nieces and nephews. Local survivors are three nephews, Reynolds Boyd, Willis Jefcoat and George Jefcoat, all of Kilmichael.

Rev. H. B. Vinson assisted by Mr. Dan Beardain conducted services at Oliver Chapel on Friday, November 28 at 2:00 P.M. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Clyde Gibson, Jimmie Dale Boyd, Alton Alderman, T.W. Davis, Tee Jefcoat and Thomas Burns.
