Sidney Grant Haldeman, 81, of 368 Girard Avenue died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ellsworth James Bonnan (Helen Marie) at 568 Windsor Street. He had been ill three years. At one time, he was a member of city council. He served for six years.

Born November 6, 1868 in Morrow County, he was a son of Henry J and Lydia Ettinger Haldeman. Nov 26, 1890, he married Lillie Mae Yeager who died in August, 1935, in Marion. A resident of Marion 60 years, he came here from Morrow County and worked many years as a machinist for the Marion Power Shovel Co. He was a member of Calvary E.U.B. Church.

Surving with the daughter in whose home he died (Helen Marie) are other children, Orville Joseph Haldeman and Harold Henry Haldeman, both of Cleveland, Sherman W Haldeman of Mt. Vernon, Mrs J. Y. Apt (Mildred) of 317 Powhattan Street and Robert Gene Haldeman of 866 South Prospect St., 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by daughters Pauline, Zelda and Clara Belle, a son, Paul, his wife and his parents.

The body was taken to the Schaffner-Denzer Funeral Home on East Center Street.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home, Rev. R. W. Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
