He was born in Wood County, son of the late Simon and Urilda Massey Adams. He was a retired laborer.
He is survived by three sons, Delbert of Parkersburg, Eldon of New England, Robert of Belpre; two daughters, Mrs. William (Lucille) Herbershoff Jr., and Mrs. Frank (Betty) Elschlager both of Parkersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Mechem of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Nettie Moore of Akron, OH, and Mrs. Roberta Hunter of Belpre; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother Charles V. Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kimes Funeral Home with the Rev. David G. Sedziol officiating. Burial will be held in Rockland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
