Mrs. Willie Alice Spangler, 73, of 959 Lincoln Ave., South Charleston, died Sunday in a Charleston hospital after a nine-week illness. She was a member of the Spring Hill Church of God.

Mrs. Spangler was born at Clifton Forge, Virginia, and was a resident of South Charleston for 42 years.

Surviving are five sons, Omer, Robert and George of South Charleston, Lawrence of Columbus, Ohio, and Morris of Canton, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Whittington and Mrs. Mary Knuckles of South Charleston and Mrs. Reba Carmo of Blairsville, Pa.; four sisters, Mrs. Murel Moses and Mrs. Myrtle Henderson of South Charleston, Mrs. Anna Pasel of Princeton and Mrs. Ida Nighty of Holland, Ohio; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Snodgrass Funeral Home at South Charleston with the Rev. Mr. Mays officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home.
