BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Bruce Douglas Nimmo, 60, died at his Brentwood home on Saturday, March 1, 2008, after a long and valiant fight against cancer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Price Nimmo; his father, Leslie Worchester Nimmo; and by his sister, Mimi Nimmo Bernard. He is survived by a sister, Niki N. Nimmo of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brothers, R. Price Nimmo (Monica) of Hendersonville, Tenn., Niles S. Nimmo (Mary Jane) of Madison, Tenn., and Kevin L. Nimmo of Nashville, Tenn.; numerous nieces and nephews; and two longtime friends, Bradlee Line and Tony Jones of Brentwood, Tenn.

Bruce loved travel, fine art, tending to his roses and time spent with family, friends and his pet cats. He was a locksmith, a Teamster, an adult education instructor, an accountant and the president and founder of Nashland Corp. He was a longtime member of the Nashville Real Estate Investors Club, the American Numismatic Association and the Gemological Association. Bruce loved photography and electronics.

Visitation at Marshall, Donnelly & Combs, 201 25th Ave. N., in Nashville, Teen., (615) 327-1111, will be at from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, with the memorial service also at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Bruce will be laid to rest with his mother and maternal grandparents on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Vermont Cemetery in Vermont, Ill. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alive Hospice in honor of the great comfort that they gave Bruce and the family in making it possible for him to remain at his beloved home in his final days.
