Mrs. John F. Hinrichs Died Saturday
Mrs. John F. Hinrichs, 69, died Saturday at 2:10 p.m. in the Wilson County Hospital at Neodesha from the effects of severe burns she recieved Dec. 18 when her clothing caught on fire as she was rendering lard out of doors at her home in Sycamore Valley.
Miss Anna Marie Gessler was born Feb. 5, 1875 in Cowley County, Kansas, and had lived all her life on a farm in Kansas. She was married at Winfield Nov. 11, 1900 and came to Montgomery county in 1914, residing then on a farm near Sycamore. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Miss Nellie E. Hinrichs of the home and Mrs. Thomas Berger of Neodesha and three sons, Carl W. of Neodesha, John M. of the home and Pfc Frank N. of the U.S. Army overseas. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ben Fuson of Woodard, Okla., and three brothers, M.J. Gessler and E.M. Gessler of Tulsa and John Gessler of Winfield. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hinrichs were held at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Sidney Hawkins, pastor of the Christian church. Mrs. Bert McCray and Mrs. L.V. Hanson, accompanied by Mrs. D.S. Lewis, sang "City Four Square" and "Sometime We'll Understand". Interment was made in the Neodesha cemetery and the casket bearers were Geo. Lay, Percey Jones, George Elrod, John McClaren, Harvey Osburn, and Ed Scott. Rev. Hawkins conducted a short graveside service.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were John F. Hinrichs, Miss Nellie Hinrichs and John M. Hinrichs of Sycamore, Nicholas Fuson, N.J. Gessler and Mrs. L.J. Brooks of Wichita and J.A. Gessler of Winfield.
