John Keith Padgett, 78, of Parkersburg passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at his residence.
He was born in New Cumberland, W.Va., a son of the late Carl C. and Bernice George Padgett.
John was a 1946 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Parkersburg and was a member of Belmont Lodge 16 F.&A.M. in St. Clairsville, Ohio. John retired from Burgess & Niple Engineers LTD after 40 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Dailey Padgett, whom he married Jan. 1, 1956; one daughter, Christina Marie Hoffman of Columbus; and four sisters, Jane Goff, Suda Scroggins, Marie Frady (Ron) and Sally Gainer (Glen), all of Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carl C. Padgett Jr.; one sister, Carol Noblin; and a son-in-law, William Hoffman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Larry Dale officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
