"The Bulletin", Saturday, October 28, 1916 Vol. 4 0 No. 8 - WALTER EARL WEAVER'S LIFE AND DEATH - Walter Earl Weaver was born in Weaver, Minnesota July 28, 1876. When he was four years old his parents moved to Durban, North Dakota, where they resided until Walter was 18 years of age. Here he received his schooling. In 1894 they moved to Arizola, Arizona.
Very soon after coming south Walter became interested in telegraphy and learned to be an operator here in Casa Grande. He was given his first station, Cochise, in 1899.
On February 2, 1899, he was married to Kate Forbach. Two children were born to this union, Earl William, age 18, and Alva Leon, age 15. He died in Phoenix, October 19, 1916, age 40 years, 2 months, 21 days.
Besides his wife and two sons, he leaves his mother, Lucretia Weaver, age 76; his brother, Fred William and two sisters, Mrs. R. T. Phillips [Adaline Madora Weaver] of Casa Grande and Mrs. Jas. Malone of Fargo, N.D.
His father, William K. Weaver, died at the hospital at San Francisco only three years ago in August and was brought home for burial. Walter's funeral was from the Presbyterian church on Sunday, October 22, Rev. C. H. Churchill preaching the sermon. After the sermon the services were in the hands of the Masonic order, of which deceased was a member. his interment was in the family burying ground near Arizola.
Mr. Weaver was made Mason at Yuma in 1904, and was steadily advanced until 1907 when he became a 32 degree, or Scottish Rite Mason. He was also mad a Mystic Shriner in 1911.
The funeral was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives from the different parts of the state and from California, who came to express their love for their friend and sympathy for the living bereaved ones.
