She was the daughter of Allen Blue Carman and Clara Ethel Burks. In 1926 her family moved to the Wastella Community. She attended Roscoe schools. It was in this area that she met Raymon F. Collier when she was 13 years old. Three years later they married on September 15, 1940. They first lived in and around Snyder and Hermleigh in their early years of marriage moving to Odessa in 1965. Raymon owned and operated a Laundromat on South Dixie. Alene was employed by Collier's Laundromat on 8th street, later she worked at the local bowling alley snack bars. Raymon preceded her in death October 11, 1979 after 39 years in marriage. She was also night auditor/desk clerk at various motels. And operated the Save Mor Station on Grandview for five years, She retired from there in 1992. While she was working at Save Mor, she met Marvin (Blue) Mondy. They married on June 18, 1994. Blue Mondy preceded her in death April 8, 2005, after almost eleven years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Hollis Carman and Dean Carman, three sisters, Edith Modene Carman, Opal Walton and Buna Collier, one son-in-law Randy Smith and two grandsons, Gregory Kitchens and Sean Smith.

She was a member of the University Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling; she was a dyed in the wool Southern Gospel Music fan. So big a fan that she and Kathy went to Tennessee for the big reunion of Southern Gospel Singers. They knew her by name and she knew them as well. She lived for her family they were her life. She was always there to help her children in whatever way needed. One of her favorite times was in July 2006 when ALL of her family met at Colorado City Lake and spent a weekend together. Watching her family laughing and loving our time together was what she loved.

She is survived by two sister-in-laws Telova Carman of Palastene, TX. And Judy Carman of Odessa, TX, two daughters, Alma Kitchens and husband Don and Kathy Smith all of Odessa, two sons, Don Collier of Denver City and Fred Collier and wife Paula of Abilene.
