Mary Elizabeth Banks

Age 81, formerly of Hazlet, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Van Dyke Hospice Center.

Born on March 1, 1927 in Oak Park, IL, she was a resident of Hazlet for 29 years before moving here in 1986. She was a former employee of Standard Oil, Sears Roebuck, and Lily-Tulip Cup Co.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Banks in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ann Barr Hahn, and brothers, Richard Hahn and Edward Hahn. She is survived by their 11 children, 23 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Harriet Hahn of Burlington, CO. She also is survived by dear and close family friends including members of the Fleetwood Park Monthly Tea Club. Her children are John A. Banks and his wife, Darlene, of Perkasie, PA; James T. Banks and his wife, Ellen, of Suffield, CT; Kevin F. Banks and his wife, Fran, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; Margaret B. Rozumalski and her husband, Dennis, of Middletown, DE; Joseph P. Banks of Somerset, NJ; William M. Banks and his wife, Marge, of Moorestown, NJ; Elizabeth A. Bauman and her husband, Robert, of Columbia, SC; Charles B. Banks and his wife, Minal, of Manhattan, NJ and Somerville, NJ; Mary Kathryn Banks of Toms River, NJ; Barbara E. Banks of Somerset, NJ; and Christopher S. Banks and his wife, Christine, of Manhattan, NY.

The viewing will be held Thursday, April 24, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at QUINN-HOPPING FUNERAL HOME, 26 Mule Rd. in Toms River. A funeral mass will be held Friday, at 9:30 am, at St. Barnabas Church in Bayville, NJ. The burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1501 Casho Mill Rd., #1, Newark, DE 19711.
