Velma was married to Oswel Forse who preceeded her in death. Velma suffered the result of drinking kerosene at a young age and had some retardation. She was a very sweet lady and except for the period of time she was married she lived with her mom, Magdaline "Maggie" Elizabeth Sledge Taylor and Wiley A. Mitchell. Velma had no children.
