The family was living next door to Julia Ann Pittman James' parents, and Julia's younger siblings.
Robert's father died on August 9, 1895 in Lamar County, Texas and was buried there in Tigertown Cemetery. On January 12, 1898 in Lamar County, Texas, Robert's mother married her second husband, Thomas L. James. No children were born to this second marriage.
Robert died December 17, 1946, in Ralls, Texas (Crosby County) and was buried there in the Ralls Cemetery where his father also was buried.
