Los Angeles Times - Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California - March 22, 1896:
"The Late Mrs. L. M. Foy. -- The many friends in the city of Mrs. Louisa M. Foy of San Bernardino, were pained to hear of her death, which occurred early Tuesday morning at the residence of her sister, Mrs. S. C. Foy. She was the first to be taken of a large family of brothers and sisters, who arrived in California from Indiana New Year's day, 1850, and soon settled in Los Angeles. Two brothers, Messrs. Oscar and Obed, Macy and one sister, Mrs. S. C. Foy, live in this city. In 1858 she was married to the late John M. Foy, and resided in Los Angeles till 1865, when they moved to San Bernardino, which has since been her home. She leaves a family of four sons and one daughter, Mrs. E. F. O'Gorman of this city."
