Wythe Adams, area mailman

Wythe Walker Adams, 80, of Gassville, a retired rural mail carrier, died last Thursday at the Marion County Hospital in Yellville. A lifetime resident of Baxter County, he was a Methodist and a widower. He was born Feb. 13, 1891, the son of Robert Alexander Adams and Nannie Walker Adams.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Joann (Rex) Dilbeck of Gassville; a son, Capt. Lynn Wade Adams, of the U. S. Navy, stationed in Spain; a brother, John Q. Adams of Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Hougland of Pamona, Kans., and Mrs. Blanche Brooks of Oildale, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Sunday at the Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Edwards, Rev. John McCormack and Rev. Norman Carter officiating. Interment was in the Gassville Cemetery under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service.

Pallbearers were L. A. Rice, Andrew Houser, Roy Finley, Hobert Pitchford, Lon Lonon and Odus Doshier.
