Died, Monday, July 6, 1908, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Austin M. Garland, in Portland, Ore., Mrs. Sarah McConnell Hoppin, widow of Colonel Franklin B. Hoppin, aged 93 years, 10 months and 28 days. Deceased was born Aug. 9, 1814, in New York. She was the daughter of James McConnell, who settled in Sangamon county in 1841, and the wife of Colonel Franklin B. Hoppin of Chatham, one of the largest wool growers in the state.
She is survived by one son, Frank M. Hoppin of White Oak, Ill., and one daughter, Mrs. Austin M. Garland of Portland, Ore. The remains will be brought to this city.
