Army Sgt. Steve A. McCoy, 23, of Moultrie, Ga.; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died June 10 at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, of wounds sustained March 23 in Baghdad when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He was the beloved husband of Tabitha Moore McCoy and devoted father of four-year old twins, Landen and Ryley McCoy.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM, Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Captain Eugene Mack and Dr. Ray Hope officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors. Sgt. McCoy was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, but lived in Moultrie, GA. He was a Devoted Squad Leader, An American Soldier---A Infantry Man.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Roland V. McCoy who was a World War II veteran of Warrenton and grandfather-in-law Bob Phillips of Moultrie.
Friends may call at the residence of Sgt. McCoys' aunt Phyllis Giddens, 106 Lennox Ave. Warrenton, GA. or the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Beggs Funeral Home.
