Major League Baseball Player. He was a pitcher for eleven seasons (1958 to 1968) with the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros. Prior to the 1960 season, he was acquired by the Phillies from the Cubs along with shortstop Alvin Dark and third baseman Jim Woods in exchange for future Hall of Fame outfielder Richie Ashburn. His most successful season was in 1965, when he recorded 13 victories with the White Sox. In 326 career games, Buzhardt won 71 and lost 96 with a lifetime 3.66 ERA.
