Adelaide was the daughter of John and Paulina Rowley Beach. She was educated in the DeKalb schools and married Albert Roach at Gouverneur on June 29, 1878. Together they opearted a farm in DeKalb, before moving to Gouverneur and then Canton in 1913.

Adelaide Roach did practical nursing for a number of year and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canton, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the women's relief corps.

She was survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Corbin of Gouverneur, Mrs. Zena M. Thrall of Syracuse, Mrs. Wanda Roulston of Canton, and Miss Mary Juanita Roach of Elizabeth, NJ; also a son, Leon E. Roach, and two brothers, Henry Beach of Gouverneur and John A. Beach of Antwerp. A second son, Theron, died as an infant.
