Sarah was the daughter of Pugh Pollard of North Carolina. She married Green William Gandy son of Max W. Gandy and Laney Whiddon Gandy on April 13, 1851 in Thomas Co., Ga. Green and Sarah had 8 children: 1) William Green Gandy-married Mary Tison, 2) Lancy Gandy-married D.C. Duke, 3) Sarah Jane Gandy-married Robert R. Kilpatrick, 4) Catherine D. Gandy-married Lewis Tillman Taylor, Jr. (son of Lewis Tillman Taylor, Sr. & Tobitha Lee Taylor), 5) Martha Ann Gandy-married William Sellers Taylor (son of Lewis Tillman Taylor, Sr. & Tobitha Lee Taylor), 6) Robert Edward Lee Gandy-married Berta Grizzell, 7) Redding Blount Gandy-married Rena Hill, 8) Christiann Gandy-married Thomas Gordon Taylor (son of Lewis Tillman Taylor, Sr. & Tobitha Lee Taylor).
