Word was received here today from the War Department that Pfc Carl A. Kennedy, 21, who recently was reported missing in action in Normandy on the 19th of June was killed in action on that date.

He was born in Ogdensburg Nov 28, 1922, son of Mrs. Mary Kennedy and the late Daniel Kennedy, 918 Patterson St., Ogdensburg.

He entered the army in April 1943 and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri with the 291st Infantry. From there he went to Shreveport, La., Camp Polk, La, and then to Fort Meade, Md before going overseas.

He was a graduate from St. Mary's Academy, class of 1940. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and the Hold Name Society. Before entering the service he was employed by Dinberg Glove Corp in this city.

Besides his mother, he leaves four brothers, Curtis of 305 King st, Ogdensburg; Richard, Daniel and Robert at home, two sisters, Marion and Doris, at home, one niece, Carol Ann Kennedy, and also his grandmother, Mrs. Martin Kennedy of Lisbon.
