Willie Thompson, who was 53 years of age and a carpenter by trade was struck and fatally injured by a taxicab less than thirty minutes after Christmas day had been ushered in. The accident occurred during a blinding rain and electrical storm.

Funeral services of Mr. Thompson were held at the home on Prospect drive Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. The remains were sent to Hillsboro, where interment was made in the family cemetery, at that place.

Mr. Thompson is survived by a wife, Mrs. M.A. Thompson, two daughters, Mrs. Huddleston and Miss Dimple Thompson, a son, Wilson Thompson, all three of the Decaturs; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Baker, of Evergreen, Ala. and Mrs. Percy Parker of the Decaturs and a brother, Jack Thompson, of Dallas, Texas.
