Mrs. Evie L. Rush, 75, of 4030 Stoutes Creek Rd., died 9 p.m. Tuesday at her residence. She was the mother-in-law of Bloomington Police Chief James East.
Mrs. Rush was a member of the South Union Christian Church, the Royal Neighbors, Daughters of American Veterans and Pocahontas Lodge.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. James (Anna) East of 4030 Stoutes Creek Rd.; Mrs. Ben (Ruby) White of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Norvin (Ruth) Alvey and Miss Martha Rush, both of Fort Wayne; two sons, Leroy Rush of Bloomfield and Samuel T. Rush of California.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ava Scaggs of W. Howe St., and Mrs. Alta Deckard of S. Lincoln St.; a step-sister, Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Ellettsville; a half-brother, Curtis East of Arlington Rd.; and 14 grandchildren. Mrs. Rush was preceded in death by her husband, Otis, in 1948.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Greene and Harrell Chapel.
