Obituary in The Birmingham News 12 Aug 2002:

LEE, MR. DONALD J. (DOUG), age 74, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2002.
Doug was a lifelong resident of Central Park, a graduate of Ensley High School, a lifetime member of Central Park United Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Postal Service.

He served in the U.S. Army during the early 1950's and graduated in the top 15% of his artillery training class. While serving as Cadre/Instructor in Ft. Sill, OK, he developed a system of scheduling and record keeping for his battery that was adopted by the Inspector General for all of Ft. Sill, and won his lieutenant a commendation for this system.

He is survived by his wife, Iris Clarke Lee; .....

Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 13, between 5-7 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel. A graveside service was on Wednesday, August 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, 205-251-7227, directed.
