Benjamin settled at Salem End (then "reserved Commons") in the spring of 1693 along with those who left Salem following the Witch Trial hysteria. His tombstone is the earliest known grave of the Salem refugees in Framingham. (Framingham Town Historian - Steve Herring).

3. Benjamin (first-named above), son of Edmund;
Blacksmith;
Came to Framingham and located at Salem End (then "reserved Commons") in the spring of 1693.
Took parole lease and Oct. 24, 1706, took deed of Joseph. Buckminster, of 112 acres (71 acres in homestead, including the hill);
Built NorthEast, of the little basin back of the Obed Daniels house, now, 1885, owned by the city of Boston [see ante, p. 157]. Bought in 1886, by Frank Goodwin.
Captain; selectman.
Died Aug. 28, 1725.
