U.S. Congressman. Educated at the Wyoming Seminary Pennsylvania, he became successful in the manufacture of sheet metal products. He also served as a Major in the Pennsylvania National Guard. During the Spanish American War, he served as a First Lieutenant and quartermaster in the 9th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, U.S. Army. Entering politic, he was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the Sixty-sixth Congress, in 1918 and elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth Congress, serving (1925-27). An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his manufacturing interests until his death at age 87.
