Mr. Elijah Robert Perry died on July 28, 2008 in Washington, D.C. He was one of eleven children, born to Alvin Lee and Maude Jane Perry. He was an American Indian of the Choctaw Tribe, born March 17, 1925. He was 83 years old. During the depression years the family were migrant workers, picking cotton from Texas to Oklahoma. Robert joined the U.S. Navy when World War II started. He became a first class aviation machinist mate. After the war ended he went to Del Mar College and AandI College in Kingsville, Texas and graduated with a degree in electric engineering. He was employed by Allis Chalmers, where Robert received his first of 53 patents over the years with different electrical power companies. He was appointed to be the director of transmission department of the electrical power research institute, headquartered in Palo Alto, California for many years. He then formed his own business with his long time business partner, Rosalie Torres. He was a man of integrity and generosity.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Joann Easter Perry; his brother, Oliver H. Perry and wife, Bonnie of Ingleside, Texas; and a very dear friend, Anna Catalina Torres of Guadalajara, Mexico.

A Graveside Service were held on Aug. 9th at Seaside Memorial Park.
